Our Process

Our Process

While polyurethane polymers are used for a vast array of applications, their production method can be broken into three distinct phases. First, the bulk polymer product is made. Next, the polymer is exposed to various processing steps. Finally, the polymer is transformed into its final product and shipped.

Casting

Polymer Components has the capabilities of Casting Silicone, Polyurethane and Epoxies.  This process offers very low tooling cost and the ability to cast large and thick cross sections. We can Cast low volume parts while making parts from a few grams to 1,000 pounds.  We have the most modern equipment to offer quality solutions for your Casting requirements.

Compression Molding

Polymer Componets can Compression or Transfer Mold products using Polyurethane, Silicone, Viton, Neoprene, Nitrile, etc.

Extrusion

Polymer Components has the capabilities to offer Custom Extrusions using Neoprene, Nitrile, Silicone, EPDM, SBR, etc.

Machining

Polymer Components has an In-House Machine Shop for Mold Making, Grinding and Secondary Machining. Polymer Components takes pride in using quality machinists with advanced technologies to make innovative solutions for customers. Polymer Components has the capabilities to saw, face, bore, knife, milling, drilling, and grinding products for professional finish.

Grinding

Polymer Components has In-House Grinding for all your Precision Grinding requirements, Rollers, Plattens, etc.

In-House-Mold Making

Polymer Components has in-house mold making capabilities to meet our Customers specifications. We have the unique capabilities in-house  to make molds using, Steel, Aluminum and NON - Metallic. We can Design and Machine, Compression, Transfer, Injection, Cast Silicone or Urethane Molds used in our Casting Process.   Our in-house mold making capabilities are fast and accurate. In this process we use CNC Machinery, Non-Metallic Tooling Capabilities ( IN-House), and Solid Works so Software. Below is a  simplistic diagram of In-House- Mold Making at Polymer Components.
